Human trafficking is a problem that is still happening all around, even within industries like hospitality business. Sometimes, these places can become potential locations where human trafficking occurs. To adress this issue, the hotel industry has the duty of taking proactive steps to stop it from happening on their premises.

One of the main things hotels can do, is to train all the staff to recognise and prevent possible human trafficking cases. This training is especially important for housekeeping staff because they often go into guest rooms to notice signs of trafficking. By giving employees the knowledge and skills, hotels can help them identify suspicious activities and take the necessary actions.

A big part of this training involves making sure that staff, check the rooms regularly. Imagine a room with a Do Not Disturb sign for 3 or more days or more people than usual in a room. These kind of situation can be suspicious activities. By doing this, they can better spot any signs that trafficking might be happening. Things like strange numbers of people staying in a room, evidence of drugs, or guests who won't let staff enter their rooms can all be signs that something is wrong. By being observant, hotel staff can help stop trafficking and report it to the right people.

It's important for hospitality business to collaborate closely with local authorities and others to create training programs that deal specifically with the challenges hotels face. The hotel industry  can make a difference in stopping human trafficking. By training our staff well, enforcing policies, and educating our guests, hotels can help preventing.
